Writing articles has been one of the most consistently profitable marketing methods online, for over 10 years now. Not only is it free, but it’s a great way to build your credibility and warm your visitors up to your website and sales messages before they get hit with a pitch.
However, the problem is that there is a lot of competition when it comes to article marketing these days, so you need to be on top of your game.
In this article, I’ll give you seven tips to make article marketing more effective than ever, and provide you with a constant stream of free traffic as a result.
Tip 1 – Make the title sexy

The best way to get people to read your articles is to format the body text so it’s easy to read. This can include breaking it up and adding sub headers
Tip 3 – Talk to the reader, not the masses
If article sound too generic, they appeal to nobody. People want to be addressed directly, and that includes YOU. Think about it, are you reading this for your benefit and your own interests, or somebody else’s? All of your articles should speak directly to one person, but if you’re sat in a bar chatting face-to-face with them.
Tip 4 – Provide real tips and advice
Want to know how to beat most of the competition when it comes to article marketing? Then simply give some good advice. Far too many article writers fail to do this these days, and they are just too interested in promoting their own products instead. By providing some useful content the reader can take away and use, you’ll get more traffic to your website and potentially more sales as well.

Nobody likes to be sold to an article. An article is all about educating people and warming up to you, even if you do intend to sell to them in the future. People understand this process, so there’s no excuse to try and trick them. Articles should contain real content, not sales pitches. If every article is a sales pitch, the Web will be a very boring place, and people’s trust will slowly fade away… which is bad news for everybody trying to make money online.
Tip 6 – Leave something out
Get people to your website often requires the reader to want more from you. A great way of doing this is to leave something out, without misleading the reader. In other words, you deliver what is promised in the article … but you also suggest that there is another way of getting better results. For example, did you know there is an even quicker way to get traffic than articles, and to get more traffic in one hour than 1000 articles could ever generate? Tip 7 – Include a juicy resource box
Finally, make sure that your resource box points to your website offers a specific benefits to the reader if they take action. Remember, the whole point of writing articles is to get people to click through to your website, so if you don’t have anything enticing to finish your article off with, then don’t expect a lot of traffic for your hard work.
